Shojin Organci and Natural

My first call for reservations was The White House in Anaheim, California. When asked if they'd accommodate a vegan, the women with the English accent said "we have salads, egg less pasta" and then proceeded to tell me, I could look on line. The voice-attitude was NOT Fabulous. I wanted to hear, "oh yes I'm sure our chief would love to put something fabulous together".(I called back and cancelled my reservation)

Next call was to Shojin in LA. The hostess had a clear, fresh and cheerful voice. Reservation for 7:00 was made. Shojin wins. My date Trisha arrived on time, but I'd forgotten to walked the dog. So she chilled as I walked Sasha around the block. Now we're late. I phone Shojin to asked for 30 more minutes tell em "we're leaving Long Beach now". Still cheerful the hostess said "ah okay" in her Japanese accent" Shojin wins again.

Arriving later than expected, we we're ushered to our table, as we squeeze through the other tables, I notice everyone is focused on their food and not one person looks up to see who's coming their way. (very unusual) With a tasteful reserved sign nestled on top our deuce table we're seated.

The restaurant is on the third floor of a mall in downtown Los Angeles. Primarily Japanese shops and eatery's. Our table is nearest the window and I'm instructed by the host to sit facing the mall and Trisha is opposite me facing the ambiance of the room. The menu is awesome and pictures for every food on the page. I just love pictures!

Trisha enjoyed a house special cocktail and I had a organic wine along with our delicious appetizers. One thing I didn't expect was the splash of music in this totally cool place. Up beat jazz filled the room with a cloud of earlishous sound...like my new word earlishous.
Our entrees were divine, delicious and plentiful! Even looking around at the other dinners I was intrigued by the various types and yes this adds to the ambiance a place has. I can't wait to return.
Trisha and I drove back to Long Beach and exited the 710 freeway on Willow. This way I could share with her a place filled with her people. The Sandbar located at 710 Willow in LB

CNN doing a Sunday 2P/T show on reducing heart attack

Former President Bill Clinton has had my attention his entire career. Now knowing he's taken the huge step in living a vegan diet is something a head of state has never done. I can't wait to watch the Dr. Sanjay Gupta Reports: The Last Heart Attack on Sunday, August 21st at 8 pm ET and again on Saturday, August 28th at 8 pm ET (on CNN).

I'd like to share a friend's story which he posted on his fabulous blog. It's a fine example of how we all might have a pure positive influence on each other. One can never tell how long we might remain friends. It' might be day's or decades!
Below is just a paragraph from this story written by Brooks Walker. Follow the link and get the story and a world class vegan carrot cake recipe.
Love,
Camber

In honor of you, Camber, I've written the following vegan recipe. From the research to the formulation and testing, it has been a most wonderful and enlightening (pun intended) experience! Above all, it has given me pause to revisit the beginning of our friendship, a period which includes some of the best times in my life.
